If you've ever trained or took a class with WTM's Head Honcho, Kru Albert Han, you know he has trouble with the basic skill of counting backwards from 10! Albert's version goes something like this: 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2.... you get the picture. Torture with a Capital T.
Well , I escaped to Thailand only to discover my new-found nemesis - the rooster who hangs out by the the back window of my room. Of course I had to name him "Albert" because this rooster fails at the one skill he's supposedly known for - serving as a reliable alarm clock. That's right, Albert the Rooster can't tell time. He starts firing off his big-a$$ beak in the wee hours of the night and then continues on once or twice e-v-e-r-y h-o-u-r thereafter till the time when he's actually supposed to perform his "cocka doodle doo". Note to self: bring earplugs next time.
Here he is looking bright and chipper after waking me up every hour.
Sleeplessness aside, I'm still having a blast riding taking in the sights, smells, and sounds while riding around on a scooter that totally suits my personal style:
Yes, this really is my ride.
And yup I sit right on her head!
And now to the reason I came. The training here at Sinbi has been awesome. The last time I was here was four years ago and the trainers still remember me... even though I had dark hair then and now I'm a total - ahem - blonde (wink wink).
Tonight I head to Bangla Stadium in Patong to watch some fights.
I'll leave you with a couple of great pics that Sarah from Sinbi took. If you look close, you'll see me in them!
